Shakira Reynolds is lead of the African-American Community Engagement Program, a component of the Community Engagement and Advocacy department. She is a Bay Area native, born in San Francisco and raised in Richmond. She completed her undergraduate studies at San Jose State University with a double major in Administration of Justice and African American Studies. In 2003, she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching. She has been in education for over 20 years and has taught in public, private, charter and international schools. She recently relocated to the area, and lives with her husband and two sons. She is passionate about social justice issues and is committed to serving her community, to ensure the greatest good is achieved for the greatest number.
